Does anyone know what the problem is or what I should do? I have specified the runtime path (/Users/Main/Documents/Code/GF/gf-3.3-bin-intel-mac/bin/gf), but I suspect it may have something to do with me not understanding how paths work. [18:46:00] oh dear, the eclipse plugin... it hasn't been developed for ages [18:46:33] gf 3.3 is pretty old [18:46:55] it looks like it's just that gf version 3.3 doesn't recognise the --tags option [18:47:05] you should try with a newer version [18:47:44] thanks! :) I'm trying that now [18:48:01] so do people typically use the eclipse plugin? [18:48:06] nope :-P [18:48:17] or well I don't know, I just know that the people I know don't :-D [18:48:39] ok, do you have any other special setup instead? [18:49:20] I use emacs, http://www.grammaticalframework.org/doc/gf-editor-modes.html [18:50:24] switching to a newer version fixed the error :) [18:50:27] cool! [18:50:31] thanks, I'll check that out :) [18:50:41] and yeah I didn't mean to scare you off from using eclipse plugin [18:51:48] but personally you think/feel that using emacs is more efficient? [18:51:51] it's not like there was something inherently wrong with it, it was just developed in an EU project as sort of "look, we're reaching out to the Real World" rather than from a great passion towards eclipse [18:52:05] and hence not maintained after that project was over 2 years ago [18:52:19] hehe I just use emacs myself, it all depends on your habits [18:52:27] sure for me emacs is more efficient cause I'm used to it [18:52:58] right. I don't have a passion in particular towards eclipse myself (but not emacs either) :P [18:53:04] ok :) [18:53:05] hehe yeah [19:05:38] actually now I feel like an idiot; it's not like the GF emacs mode is actively developed either; maybe I just have some weird prejudice against Big and Flashy stuff [19:05:57] I read the page about the eclipse plugin documentation and there was sure lot of work put into it [19:06:26] and it might very well be that people are using it, and everyone I know are just stuck in the 90s :-P [19:06:56] there's a GF syntax file for vim :") [19:11:19] ^_^ [19:23:01] As a lover of having things as big and flashy as possible I'll start with Eclipse, but it's good to know that there are alternatives :) [19:31:37] *** Quits: spectre (~fran@83.69.104.23) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) [20:03:55] *** Joins: spectre (~fran@87.117.163.70) [21:23:05] *** Quits: Gurkenglas (Gurkenglas@dslb-094-223-143-032.094.223.pools.vodafone-ip.de) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
